The birth of "Ampon" occured when Raniel (former vocals of Shiva Shanti and the disbanded Switch), Mark (guitarist of Nostradamus Junior), Lemuel (also has a band), Chester and Patrick (both from Nostradamus Junior) jammed during a private party that was held somewhere in La Union. They decided to make it as their side project band to retain each member's main band intact. They play along cuts from Kapatid, P.O.T and The Police to name a few. The band was named "Ampon" meaning "adopted" in layman's term.
